We defy anyone to walk past this and not be tempted by the warm, homemade bread and oozy cheese. Plus, you can have fun making this with the family.

For when a bowlful of Christmas pudding is just too much, these little spoons are the perfect mouthful. Spiced pud, double cream, custard and a grating of citrus – amazing.

These beautiful one-bite beauties are just the things to have with Christmas cocktails. Make the batter the day before, then you’re good to go on the day, topping them with whatever you fancy, from smoked salmon and cream cheese to avo and chilli.

For something a bit fancy, these forkfuls of delicious flavour combos are the ones to bring out. And it doesn’t stop at fresh prawns and creamy Marie Rose, try Fig, mozzarella and Parma ham, Smoked salmon with horseradish and beetroot, Greek-style, or Bresaola with mustard and coleslaw.

For a special dessert, bring out this little trio. It’s like a sorbet, but without the work. Fiery chilled grappa, good-quality chocolate and delicious frozen grapes are a showstopping flavour combo.

You can’t beat crunchy crostini with fresh toppings to give your mouth a wake-up call. Bright tomato and salty black olive are complemented by sharp balsamic vinegar – then comes the hit of chilli. Perfect.

Crispy baked potato skins make the perfect vessel for all kinds of beautiful fillings, but this one uses up some Christmas blue cheese. But it’s the use of Italian mustard fruits that takes this one to the next level.

Because it wouldn’t be Christmas without a sausage roll or two! These are simply delicious eaten warm out of the oven. Lamb or beef sausages work just as well in this recipe if you don’t fancy pork, or go for a beautiful veggie version instead.

This might be a super-simple recipe, but it’s absolutely packed with flavour. Smoosh over toast or crackers, or use it to dip in crudités. Delish!

These beautiful artichoke, feta and lemon skewers only use a handful of ingredients, and they’re super-easy to scale up or down. Perfect for Christmas.

Cheese straws will always go down well with the kids. And big kids will love them with a nice glass of something cold. Make a batch of these and they’ll be gone in seconds.

The classic Christmas canapé. Salty bacon and sweet prune, with a crunchy almond in the middle – super easy to make, and perfect with a glass of fizz.

Carrots wrapped in filo pastry? Yes please! Not only are these a brilliant little snack, they’ll also use up any surplus carrots you might have.

Super easy to make and using storecupboard ingredients, this is a snack you can quickly pull together at the last minute and make everyone very happy.

It’s almost as easy to make this pretty dish for 20 people as it is for two. The bite of the radishes and fragrance of the dill elevate a quick snack to something really special.
