Christmas breakfast recipes

It’s Christmas! And we need a good breakfast to set us up for the day ahead. These quick and easy recipes will ensure your Christmas morning is a total joy, leaving you to have some festive fun. From classic smoked salmon and scrambled eggs to something a little different like cardamon and clementine buns, there’s something for all the family.

So whether you’re wanting something light and bright, or hankering after something a little more substantial, these are the recipes you need. We’ve even popped some Boxing Day breakfasts in there too – you’re welcome!

Family breakfasts don’t get much easier, or tastier, than this. Pick up shop-bought crumpets and take them to the next-level with egg, bacon and chilli. Yum!

The perfect mix of sweet and sour, the bellini is brilliant breakfast booze – plus this recipe uses peaches from your cupboard (there’s always a can in there!), so it’s super-easy to pull together.

You can’t beat a good Bloody Mary to start off the day. The beauty of this cocktail is you can make it however you like – add chilli, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, herbs… even bacon. It’s up to you!

These are special buns to enjoy on Christmas morning – an indulgent croissant-cinnamon bun hybrid, spiced with the season’s most fragrant citrus. Make the dough on Christmas Eve, then bake them on the day for a heavenly smelling kitchen.

Made on the griddle pan, these no-faff waffles are a Christmas morning win! How do you like yours? Jamie’s favourite topping is bacon, egg and maple syrup – but it’s Christmas, so anything goes! And it’s easy to make gluten-free ones too.

Those who are vegan will love these easy-to-make pancakes. Serve with a dollop of soya yoghurt, a drizzle of maple syrup and some extra blueberries – it’s a delicious way to start Christmas morning.

It’s the Christmas classic – buttery toasted muffins, silky eggs and salty salmon. There’s nothing like it. Plus it’s light, so will leave you with enough room for the big dinner.

For something a little different, try these gorgeous tarts. Crumbly pastry, curried rice and a beautiful egg is finished off with a tomato and chilli sauce. Delicious.

Looking for a guaranteed winner with the kids? Make these fluffy American-style one-cup pancakes. Team with your favourite fruit, yoghurt and honey, and you’ve found yourself a new Christmas tradition.

Start the day with a breakfast full of goodness. A bit of toasting the night before will give you a wholesome base for a quick and warming breakfast, then the maple-poached pears take it to the next level. Really special.

If you have fussy eaters in your house, let them choose how they’d like their eggs in the morning (and get them to lay the Christmas table for you, while they’re at it!) These recipes are so easy, quick, versatile and good for you too.

Then when it comes to Boxing Day…

These spicy filled pancakes are just brilliant for the morning-after-the-night-before. Gently spiced pancakes filled with creamy spinach and cheese, they are a real treat.

You might want something simple and hearty after yesterday’s festivities. And this one-pan wonder is full of your breakfast favourites.

Can’t wait until lunchtime to enjoy the best bit about Christmas leftovers? (We don’t blame you!) This breakfast has it all. Crispy, fluffy bubble and squeak and a soft poached egg – just finish with a slice of leftover Christmas ham and you’re done.

If you have any leftover root veg from the Big Day, turn them into these super-tasty savoury pancakes. Spiked with chilli and flavoured with Parmesan, it’s the perfect Boxing day pick-me-up.
