Fyne Herbs Christmas Gift Set

This unique herb gift set – full of Jamie’s favourites – is the ideal Christmas present for foodies and gardeners alike. It’s truly the gift that keeps on giving!

One of the tastiest presents you can give to a foodie – or a green-fingered friend – is a set of delicious herbs. This isn’t just for Christmas, it’s an exciting intro to the world of fresh-grown herbs.

The Fyne Herb gift set contains 6 potted herb plants along with everything you need to start growing your herb garden at home, plus 2 recipes from Jamie himself.

These herbs love being in full sun, but we recommend keeping them indoors to overwinter and establish, then plant them out in spring. But you’ll find all the advice you need in your handy herb-growing guide.

  • Flat-leaf parsley: With a fresh, slightly peppery ‘green’ taste, flat-leaf parsley works in so many dishes. Pop your plant indoors on a windowsill, in a conservatory or greenhouse, and harvest the leaves regularly.
  • Garden mint: Also known as spearmint, this bright perennial with sweetly scented leaves is a classic. It's fast growing, too, so you can regularly pick leaves for Christmas cooking, baking and cocktail-making.
  • Lemon thyme: This compact shrub has leaves with a citrussy flavour that pairs particularly well with chicken and fish, but you can also add it to your Boxing Day soups, stews and stocks.
  • Purple sage: Aromatic, warming and a bit pepperier than your usual green sage. This plant is much-loved for its vibrant purple leaves and, of course, it’ll pep up your seasonal stuffing to perfection.
  • Rosemary ‘Barbeque’: Jamie’s favourite woody herb. This evergreen is super versatile, with a slightly smokier flavour than your usual rosemary. And, as its name suggests, it’s perfect on the grill.
  • Oregano: This savoury-flavoured perennial is great in seasonal marinades and stuffings, as well as pasta sauces. It loves the sunshine and will happily grow on a windowsill until it needs potting on.

Inside every box, you’ll find:

  • 6 x 9cm herb plants: Flat-leaf parsley, garden mint, lemon thyme, purple sage, Rosemary ‘Barbeque’ and oregano.
  • Steel-bladed snips: Keep your plants in check and make harvesting leaves easier with these beautiful snips.
  • Decorative pots: These organic plant pots – made from recycled cardboard and 100% biodegradable – can be used indoors or outside.
  • Wooden plant labels: Beautiful labels to remind you what you’ve planted and where!
  • A handy growing guide: All you need to know about keeping your plants in tip-top condition.
  • 2 delicious Jamie recipes: To help you make the most of your herbs.

What herbs will I get?

Fyne herb owners with a herb gift set

Use those herbs!

Once your plants are established (come summer), there’s a tasty world of possibility out there! Here are a few recipe ideas for using those lovely herbs:

Your questions, answered!

Founded by husband and wife Paul and Ruth, Fyne Herbs is on a mission to encourage everyone to grow their own herbs. Their lifelong love for herbs was first inspired by Paul’s Auntie Maryon who helped him discover their wonderful culinary and environmental benefits. This passion led him to a career in horticulture before launching Fyne Herbs.

No plant knowledge? No problem. Your gift set comes with a super-comprehensive herb guide containing care tips, plant information and advice on creating a flourishing herb garden (it’s a real thyme saver).

We’ve made every effort to ensure your plants arrive in great condition. But they will need a little TLC upon arrival…

  1. Take the herbs out of the decorative pots and water them well.
  2. Leave them to drain before putting back into the decorative pots – very few herbs like sitting in water. Tip: Adding a spoonful of grit or gravel into the base of the decorative pot before replacing your herb will improve drainage and raise up your herbs while they’re still small.
  3. Add the appropriate wooden label to each pot and scan the QR code for detailed growing advice (or you can find it in the guide).
  4. Using your herb snips, give any tired or straggly stalks a trim. This includes any damaged stalks, as well as yellowed or broken leaves.

All are OK indoors to start with (and that's recommended in very cold/wet weather), however most will prefer to be outside from the spring, especially perennial, woody herbs (such as rosemary, thyme and sage).
